The Problem
This fascia, soffit and guttering replacement was for a property in Cheltenham. The roofline was showing its age, and the homeowner wanted a lasting fix rather than another round of painting and patching.
Fascias carry the gutters and seal the edge of the roof, while soffits close off the underside of the eaves. Once they deteriorate, gutters can pull away and water or pests can get into the roof space.
Our Assessment
We looked at the whole roofline and the guttering. Because the fascias, soffits and gutters all work together, it made sense to replace them in one project. That way the new gutters would be fixed to brand new boards and everything would be properly lined up.
The homeowner chose white uPVC boards with black guttering. If you are weighing up materials, our article on uPVC vs timber fascias compares the options.
The Solution
We put up scaffolding along the length of the property for safe access. Our team then removed the old guttering, fascias and soffits and checked the rafter ends behind them.
New white uPVC fascia boards were fixed along the eaves, followed by new uPVC soffits underneath. Finally, we fitted new black guttering with the correct fall to each outlet and connected it to the downpipes.
The Result
The roofline now has a clean, bright finish that lifts the whole look of the house. The contrast of white boards and black gutters is smart and suits the brickwork well.
Better still, uPVC needs no painting. An occasional clean is all it takes to keep it looking good. The new guttering carries rainwater away properly, and the work is covered by our 10-year guarantee.
